Social Enterprise World Forum

From September 12th to the 14th, INTSENSE team member, Mark Richardson from Social Impact Consulting, attended the Social Enterprise World Forum in Edinburgh on behalf of the project. This huge conference brought together 1400 delegates from 67 different countries. Mark took part in a specific workshop on internationalising social enterprise, speaking about the INTSENSE project.
“The conference demonstrates just what an international scene social enterprise now is,” said Mark. “But while there is an increasing amount of interaction between social entrepreneurs from different countries, there is still little support available to turn communication into collaboration or trade. There is some notable work from the Scottish Government and the British Council to encourage and support the internationalisation of social enterprise, but with those exceptions the infrastructure is lagging a long way behind the ambition of the social enterprise sector.”
Next year the Social Enterprise World Forum will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. You can find out more at http://www.sewf2019.org/
